Updating maps on garmin nuvi 260
What happened to all the other houses and businesses?
I thought that it would be a good time to update the maps on his GPS.
Unit Series Maximum Size of SD card nuvi 16 GB zumo 16 GB Street Pilot C500 2 GB Street Pilot C300* 2 GB Street Pilot i-series* 2 GB Street Pilot 7200 / 7500 2 GB Depending on the model of your unit, it may use either a full size SD card or a micro SD card.
If you are not sure which your unit requires, please refer to its documentation.
I've read several posts and searched the Garmin site as well as other sites in hopes of finding an answer, without having to post --- but obviously no luck for me! But along with the map name is a very long repeating series of question marks. I can not find any info on the possible size requirements anywhere in the manual or Garmin website.
Here's what I have and what I have done: Garmin Nuvi 260 SDHC Panasonic 4 gb Class 6 (formatted to NTFS file system) Yes, I am using a card reader/writer. Thanks in advance for your help  Hello Wonchoi, That is a very good question.
And for some reason, the Garmin GPS just did not want to navigate to a specific address up there. Actually, it seemed like there were only 2 or 3 addresses on Landsdale Road!
Keep in mind the larger the card and number/size of files on the card can slow the units ability to draw the mapping.
*Note: If you have an OEM dealer device please refer to the series above that fits your device.
If you are working with the SD card in the card reader for the reformating and stuff, and not in the Nuvi, there isn't much harm you can do with any of this. Then just select a few tiles off the map to transfer so it only takes a couple minutes to load for testing rather than waiting for a giant map to load and transfer only to discover it's still not working. Does it matter to have a too big of Gigabytes in SD card?
On the Map Info page can you still select the Canada only map? When you formatted the SD card did you just do a quick format or the full meal deal? I don't know if that will give you the full capacity of your 4GB card or not but I would try that next .. stick it in the card reader and format to FAT using a full format rather than quick.
